Nine Martyrs of Faith by ust1907engineering The picture substantiated above is the old Colayco Park, which shows the nine Dominican martyrs from UST Faculties of Ecclesiastical Studies during the Spanish Era. Unfortunately, these statues of Dominican martyrs and San Lorenzo Ruiz in front of the Central Library is no longer around. It formerly sits in front of University of Santo Tomas Miguel de Benavides Library. And to give way to the construction of the Student Center (now called as “UST Tan Yan Kee”) on August 2005, University officials had the monuments taken down.
